Suffering from Lower Back Pain?
Millions of Americans suffer from lower back pain every year—it can get so bad that people go to the emergency room to have it treated.
The lower back is also known as the lumbar region. When you have pain in this area, it can be hard to sit, stand, or move around in any way.
Chiropractic adjustments can help you find relief and regain your mobility. If you have lower back pain, book an appointment today!
How Do I Find Back Pain Relief?
Spinal adjustments are our main method of treating lower back pain. Chiropractic care can also be combined with other modalities such as physiotherapy or massage for a well-rounded treatment plan.
We will assess your situation and recommend the best course of action for getting you back to pain-free movement.
Preventing Back Pain
Wear and tear on your body happens, and lower back pain is a common complaint. There are, however, some mitigation strategies you can adopt.
Practice Proper Posture
Proper posture supports your back’s natural curvature. There are 3 natural curves in your back:
- Cervical: the inward curve at the neck
- Thoracic: the outward curve at the upper back
- Lumbar: the inward curve at the lower back
Poor posture places undue stress on the muscles and ligaments, exacerbating these curves and causing misalignment.
Standing Posture
Here are some proper posture tips to help keep your spine aligned when standing:
- Stand straight with shoulders back.
- Your head should be in line with your body.
- Don’t lock your knees.
- Feet should be shoulder-width apart.
Sitting Posture
Here are some proper posture tips to help prevent pain while sitting:
- Rest your feet flat on the floor.
- Do not cross your legs.
- Keep your ankles in front of your knees.
- Place a small pillow behind you to support your back if your chair lacks adequate support.
- Your computer monitor should be at eye level.
Exercise
Regular exercise reduces the recurrence of lower back pain. While it can be tempting to avoid working out when you are in pain, stretching and movement can help to relieve discomfort. Exercise can also strengthen your back to prevent more pain.
Cat stretches, lying lateral leg lifts, and knee-to-chest stretches can all help to strengthen the muscles of the lumbar region and relieve pain.

“Dr. Bai and Taylor have been helping my on my chiropractic journey for about ten months now. My pain levels are way down, my energy and comfort levels are up, and I am much more attuned to the signals my body gives me. I have multiple chronic pain conditions, and my care at LEC in conjunction with my traditional medical treatments had been much more effective than the traditional route alone.”
